EVF Tears It Up at Shredding Event
The EVF members-only Flights and Bites events continue to amaze the attendees. The sold-out May event was a wonderful example of the unique experience enjoyed by attendees.
John Yu introduced the EVF guests to Late Harvest and Dessert Wines. These types of wines are made from grapes that are left on the vine for a longer period, allowing them to become sweeter and more concentrated in flavor. At the event, John served a demi-sec sparkling wine, a late harvest Riesling, and a Taylor Tawny 20-year-old port for a truly unique wine-tasting experience. These wonderful wines were paired with custom bites curated to bring out the best in the wine flavors.

The Evergreen Villages Foundation (EVF) hosted the annual tax season shredding event on Saturday morning, April 15.
The morning drive-thru proved very successful, attracting hundreds of cars and golf carts. Proceeds from the event’s $10 per box donation go to EVF’s General Fund to support enhancements to Villages amenities.
According to Cliff from Red Dog Shredding, EVF’s is one of the largest recycling events in our area. It has become an anticipated Villages event every year. The EVF thanks the volunteers and all the Villagers who made this community event possible.
The 2024 shredding event will happen on April 20th. Mark your calenders now!

Happy New Year, everyone! Let’s hope that 2024 is a wonderful year for all.
On behalf of our EVF Board of Directors, I want to thank you again for your contributions and ongoing support for the Evergreen Villages Foundation. We start 2024 with two ongoing projects: the bocce courts project and the golf course bunker renovation project. Our EVF Board fully supports the ongoing Bocce project and voted to provide up to $60,000 in matching funds to improve the facility. The golf course bunker project is a multi year ongoing project funded by a large planned giving gift from the estate of William "Dutch" Johnson. It was Dutch’s wish that the funds be used to enhance the golfing experience. The EVF Planned Giving program is a wonderful way to make a lasting difference here in The Villages.
Our successful Sustaining Member program continues to add money to the EVF General Fund for the support of Villages projects. And our Sustaining Members continue to enjoy their sustaining member benefits. Please click HERE to see all of the many benefits of sustaining membership. Last year a new perk was added: EVF Sustaining Members can now get a complimentary breakfast beverage listed on the breakfast menu if they are purchasing a breakfast entrée. EVF Sustaining Member Benefits just keep getting better and better! Our popular Flights and Bites wine-tasting evenings continue to be very popular and sell out each time. And we will be planning other exciting special events for our donors and sustaining members.
