EVF Tears It Up at Shredding Event
The EVF members-only Flights and Bites events continue to amaze the attendees. The sold-out May and June events were wonderful examples of the unique experience enjoyed by attendees.
In May, John Yu introduced the EVF guests to Late Harvest and Dessert Wines. These types of wines are made from grapes that are left on the vine for a longer period, allowing them to become sweeter and more concentrated in flavor.
In June John demonstrated how the complex wines from the Bordeaux region are made with precise blends of some of the world's most vibrant red wines.

It was a beautiful day for spring cleaning when hundreds of Villages residents disposed of over a ton of paper at the Evergreen Villages Foundation’s (EVF) annual shredding event on April 20, 2024, in the Cribari East parking lot.
​
EVF volunteers dumped over 500 boxes and sacks of paper material into the shredder over three hours. The event generated over $ 3,530 for the EVF General Fund, which will be used for enhancing Villages amenities. This was a 53% increase over last year.
" We had more residents using this service than last year", said EVF President Debbie Champion. "It's an important service EVF provides to give residents peace of mind that their documents and financial information are destroyed on-site safely and securely".

The annual shredding event is just one way the EVF supports our beautiful Villages community.

Happy New Year, everyone! Let’s hope that 2025 is a wonderful year for all.
On behalf of our EVF Board of Directors, I want to thank all who support the mission of the Evergreen Villages Foundation to help fund capital improvements in The Villages. In support of that mission, we are currently in the midst of the ongoing golf course bunker project. This bunker project is partly because of the Dutch Johnson Legacy Fund, a substantial bequest donated through the Planned Giving program of the EVF. The EVF Planned Giving program is a wonderful way to make a lasting difference here in The Villages.
Besides Planned Giving, another way to help EVF with its mission is through our successful Sustaining Member program. This program continues to add money to the EVF General Fund to support Villages projects like last year’s bocce courts enhancement project. And our Sustaining Members continue to enjoy their sustaining member benefits including our popular Flights & Bites wine-tasting evenings.
